Poetry: finding peace in every line

Welcome to my personal collection of poems, where words become a canvas for reflection and growth. Each piece is a journey from chaos to clarity, a testament to the power of new beginnings, and a gentle invitation for you to ponder your own path.

Inspired by life, crafted with heart

My poems are born from the most profound inspirations in my life—my children and the excitement of moving forward from my past. They are echoes of personal journeys, reflections of resilience, and celebrations of the transformation that comes from embracing change. Just as Inspiring New Beginnings helps you trade chaos for peace in your business, these poems offer a glimpse into that very journey on a personal level.

Reflect, question, and live authentically

Beyond simply reading my words, I hope that my poems prompt you to look inward. I want them to make you think about your own life, to question if you are truly living it the way you desire. May they be a catalyst for introspection, encouraging you to align your actions with your deepest aspirations and to find your own version of peace amidst life's challenges.

From chaos to calm, one verse at a time

The journey from a chaotic state to one of peace is a central theme in my life and in the mission of Inspiring New Beginnings. These poems embody that very principle, showcasing how even the most turbulent experiences can be transformed into moments of profound understanding and beauty. Explore these verses and discover the tranquility that comes from bringing order to your narrative.

The Architecture

I spent my life as a master of the mend. Stitching up the shadows of every broken man. I gave away my quiet, my focus, and my time, building houses for others, while I shivered in mine.

I thought love was a tether, a frantic ringing phone, a constant heavy lifting I had to do alone. I thought if I was patient, and if I stayed the course, I could heal anger and soften up the force.

But the light is shifting now, the new blueprint has been drawn. I’m waking to a silence, that feels more like a dawn. I’m falling in love with the woman, who finally said “Enough”. Who traded in the drama, for the steady, better stuff.

The only heart I’m fixing, is the one that beats inside my chest. The only life I’m building is the one where I can rest. It turns out love isn’t ‘fixing’ or a debt I have to pay. It’s the peace I find in working, and the strength to walk away.

The Architecture of Leaving

I still reach for my phone in the quiet, the habit of "us" isn't easy to break. There's a ghost in the hallway, a ghost in the room, and hollo, persistent and dull-beating ache.

I miss you oh so much, that the air feels like glass. Sharp edges, and heavy and cold, I'd be a lair to say I don't mourn. The version of "home" that we used to hold.

But I've spent my life building walls out of hope, only to watch them be weathered and torn. I've learned that a storm doesn't care for the heart, and I'm tired of being the one who is worn.

So I'm keeping the door locked, the bolt is in its place, though I miss who I wanted you so much to be. I'm choosing the silence, I'm choosing the work. I'm finally choosing the person in me. The pain is passenger, not the one driving, the tears are just rain on a path.

I must go, I'm moving toward the light that you did not provide. To a strength that a shadow could never quite know.

I miss you - I do - and it hurts like a burn. But I'm walking through the fire to get to the sun. My new life is calling and though I am scared, the era of waiting for you is finally done.

My Universe in Six Hearts

They told me the world was vast and wide.

with wonders meant for a restless eye

but I found the stars and the rising tide

right here beneath my own small Sky.

I don't have to search for a sacred place

or a miracle carved in stone or tree

I see it in every sleeping face

of the six precious Souls who chose me

Six sets of hands to hold my own

six different laughs like a silver song,

the greatest kingdom I've ever known

the place Where I truly belong.

One is my fire, one is my calm, one is

the question, another the light.

Each one a prayer, each one a balm

that carries me through the darkest night,

I am the architect, building the walls

the fortress of love where they safely run.

I'll catch every tear before it falls

How lucky am I, in this wild Spinning life,

to be the one who gets to be called "Home"

Through every mountain and every Strife.

I'm never alone, wherever I roam,

For wealth isn't measured in silver or

gold or the titles we earn or the

path that we fix. Its the beautiful

story I get to unfold with the worlds

greatest treasure...

my precious Six

The Blood and the Iron

Before you came, I was just dust

a ghost In a house of Straws and rain

Then your first cry split the world in

two and stitched my spirit back.

through the pain...

you are the iron in my spine.

the reason I learned to Sharpen the

stone,

I would tear the stars from the velvet

sky to make sure you never walk

alone.

They see a mother, a quiet face

a woman building a life from the

Wrecking do not see the ancient wolf.

calls her teeth pressed light against

your neckl

I have swallowed the dark to give

you the light

I have bartered my soul for your peace.

of mind

There is no god and there is no ghost

I would not Leave Screaming and far.

behind

If the world comes Knocking with a heavey hand

If the storm tries to breach where you lay your head.. will be the flood, I willbe the five

I will be the thing that the shadow is dread,

For you are the marrow, the holy deep...

the anchor that holds when the oceans ride

I would bleed the converse dry of its dark

just to Keep the morning inside of your eye...

The Gravity of You

I did not know the earth could tilt
until the moment you drew breath,
until the marrow in my bones
vowed to cheat the reach of death.
You are the pulse inside my wrist,
the reason for the war I wage;
the ink that rewrote every line
upon my life’s exhausted page.

I’ve stood in fires that turned to ash,
I’ve walked through winters on my own,
but I would burn the world to dust
to keep you on your tiny throne.
Your hand within my palm is steel—
a tether and a heavy grace—
I see the blueprints of my soul
reflected in your quiet face.

Let them call me soft or small,
they do not know the beast awake;
there is no mountain I won’t move,
there is no law I wouldn't break.
You are the "Why" behind the "How,"
the holy light, the sacred noise—
my heart is just a beating shield
for the king among my boys.

The Invisible Thread

They can give you a different name for "Home,"
they can teach you a different song to sing,
but they cannot untie the knot of us,
or the silent, ancient truth of things.
You may look at a face that isn't mine
and call out the word that belongs to me,
but my ghost is the air inside your lungs,
and my love is the salt inside your sea.

Even when my shadow isn't in the room,
even when the miles stretch long and wide,
I am the heartbeat beneath your ribs,
I am the pull of your internal tide.
Let her hold your hand, let her dry your tears,
let her play the part while the sun is bright—
but I am the one who dreamed you into being,
I only wish to be the one who holds you through the night.

You are forever a piece of my living breath,
a debt to the universe I’ll always pay;
I think of you with every beat of my heart,
a thousand times in a single day.
She may have the title, the house, the time,
but you are the marrow inside my bone
no matter whose roof you are sleeping beneath,
you are, and will always be, my own.
